What to see and visit in Castilla y León?

The Autonomous Community of Castilla y León or Region of Castilla y León, It is located in the north of Spain, it has no coastline. It is almost completely surrounded by mountains: the Cantabrian Mountains to the north, the mountains of León to the west, the Central System to the south and the Iberian System to the east.

It is such an extensive territory that it borders many other communitiesc: Asturias, Cantabria, the Basque Country, La Rioja, Aragon, Castilla-La Mancha, C. de Madrid, Extremadura, Galicia and Portugal. Its climate is continental oceanic, with very harsh winters and very hot summer. Its average annual temperature is 13º.

Castilla y León offers a wide tourist offer, both cultural and recreational. Thanks to its enormous historical legacy, it has a large number of castles, palaces, cathedrals (among the best in Europe), churches, museums, archeology, national holidays ... to visit.

It has many spaces and nature reserves, spas, rural tourism, with several routes that can be done in the region: heritage route, wine route, Douro route, boat routes ... It is ideal for adventure sports and Montana.

With regard to sports, it can offer a wide range: it has several ski slopes, golf courses, water activities by river (all), air activities (balloon, ultralight, paragliding), horse riding, hiking, adventure and mountain sports ...

All this without forgetting the good offer in hotels, especially in ParadoresNacionales, all of them located in old Castilian castles or palaces. And without forgetting its good Castilian gastronomy.
